It’s been a weird morning in the Fortnite realm, as I woke up to a bunch of community figures freaking out over something that happened in the early hours around 4-5 AM.
While Epic usually changes its rotating skin store with new offerings at night, for some reason, it was changed this morning, and for about two minutes they were selling a re-issue of one of the rarest skins of all time, Recon Expert. Then they removed it, some people getting cut off mid-purchase.
Now, some players, but I’m not sure if it’s everyone, has the Recon Expert store fully live, about 12 hours before you would have imagined it would go free v bucks generator live, and the timer says it will go away at traditional store reset time tonight. So something got screwed up. But logging into Fortnite right now, I do indeed have the Recon Expert store and if I wanted to use 1200 V-Bucks for that skin, I apparently could (I do not, indeed, want to buy it).
What’s the big deal with Recon Expert?Today In: Games

Quite simply, it’s just a very, very old skin that Epic never ended up reselling after Fortnite v buck generator: Battle Royale blew up into the global behemoth that it is today. This is back when the game barely had any interesting skins at all, and Recon Expert, a military-ish woman with a hat, is certainly not among them. It’s a very barebones skin, but it gained legend status in the community because it was simply never sold again for years as every other skin was eventually offered up in rotation. So only “OGs” had it.
